Upper Body & Abs

Warm up
5 minute foam rolling (IT Band, hamstring, calf)
10 minute TRU cage stretching

2 mile run [16 minutes]

3 rounds [60 second break between each round]
Assisted pull-ups 10 reps
Chest press 12
Russian Twists

3 rounds
Tricep pulldowns 10
Seated rows 10
Toe Touches 20

2 rounds
Ball slams [10# soft med ball]
TRX knee tucks 10

I can give you a million reasons why exercising is so good for you, but you already know that. I rather explain to you why I exercise regularly and how I have been able to be consistent.

The feeling I get when I walk into the gym or about to go for a run is indescribable, I am full of happiness and just a beast mode attitude. I put my head phones in and jam to bachata music (Aventura & Daddy Yankee are my favs!). I get into my zone and block out everything, it’s my time to work on myself physically and emotionally.

I am constantly switching up my workouts, because I have ADD and get really bored quick. I know I’m not the only one, so don’t judge me! 😉 I love to hit the gym using weights, swim, bike, run, plyometric workouts, quick circuits, yoga and hiking. I don’t do the same workout routine each week, it may be slightly similar but I am always trying new exercises. You should be constantly changing it up, your body adapts quickly and it’s not being challenged, which in some cases people plateau. We have so many places to get inspiration for workouts: Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, and Pinterest so use them!

Another thing that has helped me on my journey is progress pictures, I know cheesy but seriously it reassures me that I am on the right road. When I see a picture of myself and my baby abs are visible, toned arms and strong legs, I get so happy and know that my healthy eating and active living are paying off. I have tons of energy, I wake up ready to kick the day’s ass and I love sharing my positive and happy spirit with all of you.

Workout clothes get me so excited! Although Lululemon and Lorna Jane can be pricy, it is so worth it! I love how Lulu’s clothes fit and their sports bras hold my girls pretty well. I absolutely love LJ’s inspiration shirts and their colorful variety of clothes. I feel like a kid on Christmas when I get new workout clothes, I just can’t wait to workout in them. Treat yourself from time to time, you deserve it!

I love coming home from a good ass workout and eating a big healthy breakfast. You cannot have a fit body if your diet is bad. Eat well and fuel your body with healthy foods, your body will reward you!!

Breakfast Potatoes 

Ingredients:
1 lb Gold potatoes, diced
Handful of Cilantro, finely chopped
1 lemon, juiced
1/2 red onion, diced
1 jalapeño, diced
1 tbsp olive oil
Dash of pepper & sea salt

Directions: Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and mix. Meanwhile, heat a skillet and spray with oil. Cook potatoes until browned.

I love this post. Someone asked me yesterday why I love to run and continue to do it and why I’ve moved to triathlons…most of my reasons were quite similar to yours. I love catching up on your daily recipes!!!
